About Dr. Akshya Vasudev

Dr. Akshya Vasudev is a psychiatrist in London, Ontario with a focus on holistic, consultation‑based care for adults and older adults. His work integrates conventional psychiatric knowledge with lifestyle‑oriented strategies, including discussion of diet, physical activity, breath‑based yoga, meditation practices, and spiritual enquiry to support mental health and wellbeing.

In his current clinical role, Dr. Vasudev offers time‑limited holistic mental health consultations rather than ongoing psychiatric follow‑up. He no longer prescribes or renews medications; instead, he provides recommendations to the patient’s family physician, nurse practitioner, or treating psychiatrist, who remains responsible for all prescribing decisions and ongoing medical care.

Outside his clinical practice, Dr. Vasudev volunteers as a teacher with the Art of Living Foundation, where he delivers structured breathing and meditation programs in a non‑clinical setting. Some of the breathing and meditation techniques discussed in his consultations draw on this training, but participation in any specific organization’s programs is entirely optional and occurs outside the physician–patient relationship.
